Project Objective:
"Avse's goal is to ease the burden for small entrepreneurs by automatically and securely handling tax declarations. This saves them money, time, and energy."
Problebs & Pain points
"In our country, it is extremely difficult for small entrepreneurs to handle tax declarations. The interface is confusing, the graphs lack clear labels, and the process is hard to understand. This creates a high risk of errors, which can lead to penalties for incorrect payments. Entrepreneurs must calculate their total income and then determine 1% of it, which adds to the complexity."
New and aspiring small entrepreneurs struggle significantly with correctly paying tax declarations due to the complexity of the processes.
Even experienced small entrepreneurs or accountants occasionally make mistakes, leading to fines and enforced collections.
There is a highly complex flow and an unclear interface where small entrepreneurs struggle to navigate and pay their tax declarations.
Many people are forced to hire an accountant, which adds unnecessary expenses.
There is a significant lack of information available to guide small entrepreneurs on how to correctly file their tax declarations.
Sometimes small entrepreneurs forget to submit their tax declaration. There is no system that reminds them about payment deadlines or ensures their compliance and security.
Small entrepreneurs who haven't paid taxes for a long time and have outstanding collections often see no payable amount displayed. They must wait a whole day to find out the total, and they prefer simply removing their status instead.Process Highlights:
Design Thinking
I started research, read articles, explored how this world works, the regulations, and what the legislative barriers were. When I realized how I could create the app, I started thinking about the design.
First of all, in order for the app to work, we needed to know the users' income, cash flow, and transactions.
I started negotiations with banks and RS, where I needed very strong communication skills.
Then I got up and started working on the personas to make my app fit them as much as possible. We had calculations for clovers, taxes, businessmen, and freelancers.
I started drawing wireframes to check everything, focusing on the people, developers, and whether there were resources in development, and so on.
After that, I started working on the design, and in the end, we achieved a great result. We tested it with 50 people, and the test went very well. We managed to reduce a tiring process that used to take 4 hours down to 30 seconds.
Wireframes
I began creating wireframes where we tested various options and explored different possibilities. We also evaluated whether we had the resources for development. Through extensive testing, we explored multiple approaches to the tax declaration payment process and ultimately arrived at the best solution.
Declaration Filling process
I started designing and, after extensive testing, it was time to finalize and test how my design would function. I created the final-level design and adjusted variables to conduct accurate testing. Today, with this application, small entrepreneurs can complete payments in 30 seconds, compared to the hours it used to take. The process was previously exhausting, error-prone, and often resulted in fines.
RS
We needed RS integration to access users' cash-based transactions.
Open Banking
It was also necessary to integrate with banks, which we figured out after extensive research and inquiries. This involves an Open Banking system, which provides a license to integrate banks into your platform. Through this, we were able to retrieve transaction data as well.
